EMPA Legislative Update
HR 5107, the Employee Misclassification Protection Act (EMPA) was reintroduced in the 111th Congress by Rep. Lynn Woolsey on April 22, 2010 and co-introduced on the same date in the Senate by Senator Sherrod Brown as S 3254. Senator Brown held hearings on the bill on June 16, 2010. Currently, HR 5107 and S 3254 have eight co-sponsors with additional co-sponsors. For updates, visit www.govtrack.us.
